The Negev Dogs website provides links to rescue groups in the Negev region, in southern Israel. This site also provides links to other important animal rescue groups in Israel. They desperately need your help, especially now, during the war.
Keren Or means Ray of Light. This is the name of a rehabilitation sanctuary near Tel-Aviv, that cares of more than 450 animals who have experienced neglect, abuse or were abandoned.
In these dark times this sanctuary is still a ray of light for the rescued animals. They cannot do their work without your help. The Sanctuary shares this message about their hardship at this time, following the tragedy they experienced.
Dear Friends,
Since the war started, we have not been receiving enough donations and our financial situation is the worst it has ever been. We were all set with a fund-raising campaign that was supposed to be launched on Oct 8th. Our intention was to raise money to build a new veterinarian clinic. We were looking forward to starting the campaign and believed it will be successful, but then came the bloody Saturday (Oct 7th), and everything changed.
Out there the war is raging. We are devastated by our personal loss, but we must keep on going. The animals in the sanctuary depend on us. We do our best to give our animals the best treatment possible, but the costs are very high. In the past week, we had to spend a lot of money for emergency treatments for Ronit; one of our mules, and for Lora; one of our beloved dogs. We also had to do some repairs that could not be postponed. We also have weekly expenses of food and medicine for our residents.
Asides from our permanent animal residents we have new guests at the sanctuary. Many animals from southern Israel were brought to us. Many are in shock from the devastating tragedy, some are injured. Most were left behind without anyone to care for them. We need your support to help care and rehabilitate them.
As we have already shared, the founder and CEO of Keren Or Farm, and her family are currently in deep grief as her sister was murdered in the horrible terror attack on Oct 7th. Our wonderful team of volunteers is coming together these days, doing their best to give Keren-Or the much-needed time and support. We and our beloved residents of the farm would appreciate any donation, at this critical time. Thank you!
