        About this site:

  • This site does not take donations!

  • I provide you with links and information to organizations in Israel.

  • I translate information from Hebrew to English.

  •  The goal is to help any stray or abandoned dog or cat in Israel, but focus on the crisis in the Negev.

My name is Michal. I live in Canada, I speak Hebrew. I decided to create this website to provide information in English about the dog crisis in Israel, especially in the Negev region; located in southern Israel. Cats also are in desperate need for help, but at first, I will focus on stray or abandoned dogs.

People oversees are not aware of how bad the situation is. There are tens of thousands of abandoned dogs in the Negev region, in desperate need of help. Israel is an expensive country, and the government barely helps stray animals. Ordinary Israelis can hardly get by, let alone pay for vet bills or buy dog/cat food. The situation is especially difficult in the Negev region. This is not a wealthy region. It is a war-torn region; the residents live under constant threat of rocket attack.

There are good hearted rescuers and foster families, who help stray dogs and cats, but they need help and support to pay for dog/cat food and vet bills. The Negev region has a harsh climate. This is a desert region with little water. Sand and scorching sun is not a natural environment for dogs to survive in.

The rescuers in Arad and Beersheba have websites/ Facebook pages that are currently only in Hebrew. I will add links to the sites. Any help is appreciated.

I will provide links to sites that have an English option, such as the Israeli SPCA; these are organizations that help dogs and cats all over Israel. Many times, Negev dogs are transported to central Israel, in hope of getting them adopted. Organizations such as the SPCA or S.O.S pets are also in desperate need for help. You can read the information on their pages. Thank you for visiting this website and learning about the dog crisis in Israel.
